Shamrock Girls Top Morrice to Advance to District Finals

The St. Pat's girls basketball team traveled to Lansing Christian on Wednesday night to face the Orioles of Morrice in the MHSAA district semi-finals. The Shamrocks led for all four quarters and defeated Morrice 38-29

Lydia Meredith led all scorers with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Samantha Teachworth added 11 points and 15 rebounds for the Shamrocks. Morrice was led by Jenny O’Berry and Olivia Riley each with 7 points.

Scoring summary by quarter:

1st - 2nd - 3rd - 4th - Final

St. Pats 13 - 6 - 10 - 9 - 38

Morrice 9 - 1 - 3 - 16 - 29

The Shamrocks advance to face Fowler in the district championship on Friday night. The two teams have already met twice this season with Fowler winning both games by a close margin. The first meeting was on December 18 with Fowler winning 52-49. The second meeting was on January 30th with Fowler winning 61-53 in double overtime.

Tip-off for the championship game is 7:00 at Lansing Christian.
