Obituary for Norma P. Simon
Norma P. Simon, of Portland, age 93, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020. She was born April 22, 1926 in Westphalia, the daughter of Ferdinand and Pauline (Arens) Martin. Norma was a devoted member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Resurrection Choir. She enjoyed mowing the lawn and traveling. Norma loved being a homemaker and her greatest joy in life was her family.
Preceding Norma in death are her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Anthony Simon; son, Steven; brothers, Frederick, David, Vernon, and Anthony Martin. Norma is survived by her children, Larry (Sandy) Simon of Portland, Kathy Lehman of Portland, Annette (Brian) Fedewa of Portland, Dennis (Gladys) Simon of Spring Lake, Mary (John) Black of Lake Odessa, Anthony (Teresa) Simon of Portland, and Teresa (Dennis) Martin of Westphalia; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Millie Droste, Mary Ann (Roman) Koenigsknecht, Phyllis Thelen, Linda (Paul) Ambrustmacher, and Janice (Alvin) Feldpausch; sister-in-law, Genevieve Martin; brother-in-law, Celestine Simon.
The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
