Portland High School Announces Top Ten Graduates for Class of 2020

Portland High School Principal Christine Rockey has announced the Top Ten graduating seniors for the Class of 2020. Rockey told The Portland Beacon, “I’m proud of the hard work these students put into their academic efforts. They are dedicated students and based on what they have done to achieve here at Portland High School, I have no doubt that they have successful futures ahead of them.”
The Top Ten graduates, in alphabetical order, with a brief description of their post-graduation plans are:
Ari Babcock: Ari will attend Cedarville University in Cedarville Ohio and major in Elementary Education.
Amber Cross: Amber is the Class of 2020 Salutatorian and will attend the University of Michigan-Dearborn and major in Child Psychology.
Anna Lapham: Anna will attend the University of Michigan and has not yet declared a major.
Ainsley Ludema: Ainsley is planning to major in Architecture and has not yet finalized her college choice.
Darian Mason: Darian is the Class of 2020 Co-Valedictorian and will attend MSU/Lyman Briggs. She will study Environmental Science and Chemical Engineering with a career goal to work in a field to protect, sustain or enhance the environment.
Jenasen Moffatt: Jenasen will attend Montcalm Community College and pursue a degree in Digital Art.
Dalton Redemsky: Dalton will attend Saginaw Valley and pursue a teaching degree.
Elizabeth “Jade” Russell: Elizabeth’s plans are to major in Flight Science and become a commercial airline pilot. She has not yet chosen a college.
Julia Savage: Julia is the Class of 2020 Co-Valedictorian and will major in Mathematics. She has not yet chosen a college.
Emma Selden: Emma will finish her 13th year at Lansing Community College and then transfer to GVSU to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.
