Lady Raiders Burned by Comets 59-44

The Portland High School girls basketball team traveled to Grand Ledge on Tuesday night to take on the Comets. Some hot shooting by the Comets resulted in the Lady Raiders picking up their second loss of the season.

The Comets were led by 6’ 1” freshman Ava Scanlon with 22 points, and junior Morgan Hetherington with 14 points.

Portland was led by sophomore Ashley Bower with 19 points, and sophomore Breckyn Werner with 12 points.

Scoring summary by quarter:

1st – 2nd – 3rd – 4th – Final

Portland 13 – 8 – 10 – 13 – 44

Grand Ledge 6 – 20 – 24 – 9 – 59

With the loss, the Lady Raiders move to 15-2 overall, and remain 7-0 in the CAAC White. They will host the Lansing Catholic on Friday night. The Cougars are 10-6 overall and 4-3 in the CAAC White.
