Portland Varsity Girls Dominate the Sexton Big Reds

The Lady Raiders improve their record to 5-1 Friday night with a home court win against Lansing Sexton. The final was 48-12.

Portland was led by sophomore Ashley Bower with 19 points. The team shot well from long range making seven 3-pointers. Shots were made by junior Ava Gruber, sophomore Ava Guilford, sophomore Olivia Densmore and sophomore Ashley Bower.

For the Big Reds, #21 Bell led the team with four points. The game was another great defensive effort by Portland holding another team to scores below 25. The Raiders remain undefeated in the league headed into the new year.

Head coach Jason Haid notes, "it was important to be playing well headed into break and he is excited to see what the new year brings." Portland will look to continue their win streak in 2020 when they play St Johns away on January 7th.
