Portland Varsity Girls took on Lansing Eastern at Eastern's new gym this Tuesday December 17th. The final was 52-22 Lady Raiders.

Portland started off strong in the first half holding the Quakers to only 3 points. The girls had great ball movement and composure while handling the press. In the post, Olivia Densmore and Breckyn Werner dominated combining for 25 points. Portland was also successful at the free throw line making 8 of 11 on the night.

Leading the team was #11 sophomore Ava Guilford with 14 points. The guard made three 3-pointers in the first half, crediting the rest of her buckets to layups and free throws.

The Quakers were led by #3 Blake Johnson with 7 points.

Portland coach Jason Haid describes the win as "another step in the right direction to finishing games."

The Lady Raiders will take on Lansing Sexton this Friday December 20th at Portland High School.
