PHS Bowlers Compete in Inaugural CAAC Baker Tournament

Portland High School's bowling team competed Sunday in the first ever CAAC baker tournament at City Limits in Mason.

The girls team qualified third after 12 games and then in match play made it to the finals coming up just short finishing second.

The boys team qualified third after the first 12 games making it to the semi-finals where they lost to Haslett.

Portland was lucky enough to bring a JV team to the tournament as well. They qualified in third place in the JV division after 12 games and made it to the finals losing to Mason.

Boys coach William Armour III said, “This is our second tournament of the year. We continue to get better the more we compete. Everybody is showing improvement.”

Portland’s next action is against Ionia on Monday at the Wagon Wheel 3:15 pm.
