Lady Raider Basketball Picks Up 44-30 Win at Ionia

The Portland High School girls basketball team traveled to Ionia on Friday night for a CAAC match-up with the Bulldogs.

Sophomore Ashley Bower led the Raiders offensively with 14 points, including three three-pointers. Junior Ava Gruber had 12 points, including three three-pointers. Sophomore Breckyn Werner had eight points for the Raiders, while sophomore Ava Guilford had six points, and sophomore Alivia Densmore had four points.

Ionia’s Canfield led the Bulldogs with 10 points.

Ionia falls to 2-1 on the season.

The Raiders improve to 3-1. They will travel to Lansing Eastern (1-2) on Tuesday, before returning home to play Lansing Sexton (0-4) on Friday night.
