The Auxiliary of Post 4090 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Portland Michigan continued their tradition of providing a free home cooked Thanksgiving meal to anyone that stopped in the Post hungry. The meal was open to the public as well as the members. Auxiliary President Shirley Teachout stated, “It is very rewarding giving back to the community. We know, not everyone has family coming to visit or able to pull together a meal, so we are the bridge to a Happy Thanksgiving”.

The Auxiliary has been preparing homemade home cooked Thanksgiving meals for over 10 years.
