Valarie Hoppes Leads Portland Girls Cross Country Team to MHSAA Regionals

Freshman runner Valerie Hoppes will lead the Raider Girls Varsity Cross Country into the MHSAA Regionals tomorrow at Uncle John’s Cider Mill in St. Johns. Hoppes has placed first for the Portland Girls in all nine Cross Country races this year. Last week she set a Personal Record (PR) of 22 minutes 31 seconds for the 5K at the CAAC White Jamboree in Eaton Rapids.

The Raider Girls Cross Country Team this year included: Autumn Shimer; Bryna Adams; Destiny Foltz; Elaina Volk; Ellie Pung; Maya Estell; Mya Collins; Patricia Saavedra (a foreign exchange student from Spain); Sarah Halfmann; Teaghan Lathers; and Valarie Hoppes. The team is coached by Mark Holdren
