City Files Reconsideration Request for Emergency Funding Related to Winter Flooding

Today, the City or Portland submitted a request for reconsideration to the office of Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The City’s initial request was denied by the Governor on July 2nd. That denial stated that, “the local commitment did not place unreasonably great demands upon the county and clearly demonstrate exhaustion of local effort.”

The City’s reconsideration request highlights multiple factors, mainly related to the City incurring the bulk of expenses related to emergency services rather than to County of Ionia.
