The Portland Beacon, Portland, Michigan’s local news and information website, is pleased to announce a new community event. “Portland Stories”, a live storytelling experience dedicated to the people, places and things that call this community home.

This year’s inaugural event will be part of Portland’s Sesquicentennial events and co-sponsored by the "Portland Community Theater" home of the Portland Civic Players. This year’s event will be held at the theatre located at 231 Maple Street on Sunday, September 15th, 2019 at 2:00 PM, and will feature up to eight local storytellers, each sharing an eight to 10-minute story about someone from Portland or something Portland based.

This event will be free to the public. Seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. We anticipate a full house.

If you are interested in learning more about Portland Stories, or would like to be one of the storytellers, please email the coordinator of the event, Robert Lathers, at robert@theportlandbeacon.com for Storyteller details.
