Rep. Calley announces winners of district photo contest

In a release from her office, State Rep. Julie Calley, of Portland, welcomed the four winners of her district photo contest to Lansing today to reveal the winning photo submissions, which now hang in Calley’s office. The pictures were taken by Casey Clark of Portland, Lynette Doele of Shelbyville, Marge Faber of Hastings, and Danielle Jorae of Portland. The winners were also presented with an individual tribute in recognition of their talent.

The theme for the photo contest was the four seasons. One winner and one runner up were selected for each season. The four photos from the runners up are displayed in the lobby of Calley’s Lansing office. The runner up photos were taken by Bruce Farrell of Middleville, Candace Smith of Middleville, Roger VanVleck of Saranac, and Stefanie Williams of Lyons.

“I am grateful to the many participants who sent submissions to the photo contest,” Calley said. “The winning pictures were spectacular and I am proud to share our local talent with everyone who visits my office.”

A release from PFCU on the same topic stated:

PFCU is proud to announce that one of their employees, Danielle Jorae, was selected as a winner of State Representative Julie Calley’s photography contest. Jorae owns and operates her own photography studio, Reflections Photography, in Portland, MI. In March State Rep. Julie Calley of Portland announced she would host her second photography contest for constituents in Barry and Ionia counties.

The theme for the photo contest was the four seasons. There was one winner chosen for each season. Jorae’s winning photo features the Grand River and Downtown Portland. The photo will be displayed in Rep. Calley’s Lansing office and the photographers were invited to join her in Lansing in order to unveil the pictures.

“I’m very excited to have one of my images displayed in Representative Calley’s office,” says Jorae. “I am honored to be featured and am excited for all the people that visit her office to see the City of Portland through my lens!”

“Danielle has a true talent for photography, I am not surprised at all to see that one of her photos was selected by Representative Calley and her team”, said Robyn Heron, SVP Marketing at PFCU. She went on to emphasize that “this is just one example of how all PFCU employees impact the communities in which they live, work and play.”
