VFW Post 4090 Announces Memorial Day Parade Route and Ceremony

Portland’s VFW Post 4090 will hold it’s 2019 Memorial Day Service and Parade on Monday, May 27th.

The timeline will be:

Assemble

9:30 AM

Iron Bridge at Powers Park

Line up starts with Portland Public Safety leading VFW float, Color Guard, Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus, Etc.

Parade Starts

10:00 am

VFW Auxiliary Prayer and dedication of wreath

PHS band plays the Navy selection

Rifle Squad salute by the VFW Honor Guard

TAPS played by PHS Band

Lehman Funeral Home

10:10 am

Parade travels to Lehman Funeral Home for Auxiliary wreath presentation

Ringing of the church bells

10: 15

Parade will stop at Bridge St. and Smith St.

Portland Cemetery

10:25

Parade continues on to Portland Cemetery for conclusion of service.
