Nate Lay Named VFW Post 4090’s “Firefighter of the Year”
On May 15, at 5:30 pm at Portland Fire station with family, friends and fellow firefighters watching, Commander Bill Almy introduced Nate Lay as VFW Post 4090’s “Firefighter of the Year”.
Commander Almy stated, “VFW Post 4090 takes pride in recognizing individuals within our community who we believe are shining examples of hard work and dedication.”
Nate has been with the Portland Area Fire Authority for seven years. He received his Associate Degree in Fire science from Lansing Community College.
Chief Tim Krizov writes; “he not only is a great firefighter, but he is always willing to do all the extras around the fire station like tours with local children, help with fundraisers, and other involvements within the community.”
