PHS Girls Soccer played three games over the last week and improves their overall record to 6-5 with wins over Ithaca and Bath. The Raiders went 1-1 this last weekend at the Portland Spring Sports Carnival. Winning their first game over Ithaca 2-0. The ladies were able to put a lot of pressure on the Yellowjackets early in the game but came up short on a few goal scoring opportunities but were still able to finish out with a win. Mariah Fedewa had both goals for the Raiders. Rachel Nelson had 3 saves for the shut out win. In the second round game they played a well matched game against Leslie and was able to keep the game tied at half 0-0. The Raiders struggled to find many scoring opportunities and ended the game in a 0-2 lost. Back on the road Monday the Raiders traveled to Bath. Not wasting much time they jump to a 2-0 lead by halftime. In the second half they continued to connect well on the field moving the ball at times with ease and connected for two more goals. Bath mounted a lot of pressure on the Raiders defense and was able to score twice before the game ended. The Raiders ended the game with a 4-2 win. Goals were scored by Mariah Fedewa, Mckayln Zigler, Sami Rushin and Ashley Bower. Varsity Girls Soccer will continue play tomorrow home against Maple Valley at 5:30pm.
