Saranac visited Portland on Thursday, May 2nd for a matchup with the undefeated Shamrocks. Both games were defensive battles, but the Shamrocks were just too much for the Redskins, with St. Patricks winning the first game 2-1, and after a day long rain delay, the Shamrocks also won the second game 3-1.

In the first game, Nathan Lehnert continued his dominance on the mound, pitching 5.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and no runs, striking out 5.

Offensive leaders were Brandon Scheurer who went 2 for 3, with 1 RBI. Chase Fitzsimmons, Evan Schrauben, and Ryan Lay all had hits as well.

In the second game, Devin Fedewa pitched for 4.2 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, with 5 strikeouts. Sam Mauren got the win, pitching 2.1 innings, and striking out 1. Offensive leaders were Bryan Scheurer who went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI, and Sam Mauren who went 2 for 3.

Coach Bryan Scheurer was happy to have a good challenging set of games. "Good wins versus a very solid club. Low scoring games where little things really matter and timely hitting in some clutch situations. Games like these help you get better going forward."
