Lady Shamrocks win one against Saranac

On Wednesday, May 2nd, the Redskins from Saranac visited Portland for a grudge match again the St. Patrick's Shamrocks. The Shamrocks were able to grind out a win before the rain cancelled the second game, winning 9-6.
Summer Russman was the winning pitcher, throwing all 7 innings. Offensive leaders were Lydia Meredith who went 2 for 3 with a triple, Irene Mackowiak who went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's, and Carly Scheurer who went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's.
Jocelyn Rockey was happy with a CMAC win against a quality program. “Our league contest against Saranac led to a win in the first game and a suspended game two, due to weather conditions. Our first game was a great combination of power hits and small ball movement. The girls executed as well as could be expected during unfavorable weather. Lydia Meredith had a dynamic double play at shortstop that provided a catalyst to our team, as well as hitting 2-3. Irene Mackowiak also went 2-3. We are also super proud of how Summer Russman pitched and came through during such a tough game.”
The Lady Shamrocks are heading to North Country to play in a tournament in Lake Leelanau on Saturday, May 4th this weekend. They host Fowler at Home on Monday, May 6th.
