Portland Soccer Shuts Down Ionia 8-0

Varsity Girls Soccer was back in action on Monday to continue league play hosting local rival Ionia. The Raiders didn't waste any time putting some goals in the net and jumped to a 4-0 lead halfway through the first half. They were able to possess the ball most of the half giving the Bulldogs very few chances to make any runs to the net. The ladies continued to dominate the second half and finished with an 8-0 win over Ionia. Goals were scored by Mckayln Zigler (3), Mariah Fedewa, Hannah Gruber, Ashley Bower, Maelynn Huhn and Sami Rushin. Varsity Girls are back on the field Thursday away at Eaton Rapids. JV Soccer continues play today away at Ovid Elsie.
