I-96 Closure Set for this Weekend
Area motorists needing to use the highway this weekend should make alternate arrangements. A large portion of I-96 will be closed at Cutler Road for most of the weekend.
The closure will begin 10:00 PM on Friday and continue until 10:00 AM on Sunday. This closure will allow crews will tear down the existing Cutler Road bridge over I-96. The Michigan Department of Transportation’s posted detour will direct drivers to M-43 and M-66.
This work is part of the larger $3.9 million project to remove and replace the original Cutler Road bridge at I-96. MDOT is also planning to spend approximately $5.5 million between now and October to repair and resurface 9.5 miles of I-96 from Sunfield Road to the Ionia/Clinton county line.
Cutler Road over I-96 is already closed. You can find more information on the project by clicking HERE.
