The varsity boy’s golf team opened up 2019 conference play Monday afternoon
with a divisional jamboree played at Bonnie View Golf Course in Eaton Rapids.
The Raiders finished the day with 5 wins and 1 loss. A traditionally strong
Lansing Catholic golf program managed to escape with a narrow two stroke victory over Portland to take first place with a team score of 180. The Raiders took
second with a team score of 182. Charlotte’s score of 204 earned third place.
Ionia ended in fourth with a 214. A young and inexperienced Eaton Rapids team
posted a team score of 259. Lansing Sexton did not participate in yesterday’s
CAAC White Division jamboree.
Scoring for the Raiders was: Zach Pier who shot a four over par 40 and earned
jamboree medalist honors by two strokes; Ethan Getchell and Jared Thomas each
finished with rounds of 46 and Luke Nobis rounded out the Raider scoring with a
50.
Weather permitting; the varsity’s next match is a divisional jamboree at Maple
Brook Golf Course in Charlotte on Thursday, April 18th.
