Comets Over Lady Raiders 52-41

The Portland High School Lady Raider basketball team hosted the Comets of Grand Ledge on Tuesday. The Comets were a bit too hot to handle and Portland fell 52-41.

Grand Ledge 10 – 8 – 19 – 15 – 52

Freshman Ashley Bower lead the Raiders with 19 points. Senior Calley Goodman added 6, while Sophomore Ava Gruber and Senior Lesley Barker each added 5.

Portland moves to 14-5 overall. Grand Ledge moves to 10-8.

The Lady Raiders finished the CAAC White regular season in 2nd place after falling in a heartbreaker to Charlotte last Friday.

The Portland squad’s next action is Thursday when they travel to Lansing Eastern. Next week they begin MHSAA districts at Lakewood.
