Lady Raiders Pick Up Win Over Cougars

The Portland Girls Basketball team traveled to Lansing Catholic on Monday night, and the Lady Raiders picked up a 47-37 CAAC White victory.

Freshman Ashley Bower led the Raiders with 13 points, followed by Senior Lesley Barker with 12 and Sophomore Ava Gruber with 9.

Lansing Catholic 7 – 9 – 14 – 7 – 37

Coach Jason Haid said after the game, “This win puts us one game behind Charlotte in conference standings. We will play Charlotte for a share of the conference title on Friday night.” That game is at Charlotte.

Portland moves to 7-2 in the CAAC White and 11-3 overall. Lansing Catholic moves to 5-4 in the White and 9-6 overall.

The Lady Raiders host Belding Tuesday, February 19th at 7:00.
