On Friday, February 15th, the Bath Bees visited Portland to play the St. Patrick's Shamrocks. After a few rough weeks, the Shamrocks came to play and proved that their season is far from over with a great victory over the Bees winning 47-45.

The Shamrocks started out strong and worked up a good lead, but the Bees surged late in the 1st quarter to win 14-11. Lydia Meredith led St. Patricks with 5 points.

The 2nd quarter was a fantastic back and forth battle, ending up with a tied quarter 9-9 and the Bees took a 23-20 lead into halftime. Katelyn Russell led the Shamrocks with 5 points in the quarter.

After the half, more great basketball was in store for the home crowd, but the Bees were just slightly better, winning the quarter 13-11 and taking a 36-31 lead into the final quarter. Mara Schrauben and Lydia Meredith both had 4 points in the quarter.

The Shamrocks played to win in the 4th quarter and played solid defense to outlast the Bees, winning the quarter 16-9. Samee Teachworth and Anne Gunderman both put in 4 points to pace St. Patrick's.

Coach Al Schrauben was happy to get the season back on track with a win over a solid 10-5 team. "Good effort, we missed too many free throws and easy shots, but we hung in there and hit them in the last 4 minutes. Good win!"
