Obituary for Margaret Mary Warder
Margaret Mary Warder, age 100, of Portland, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born on October 19, 1918 the daughter of Allen and Sarah Wilcox. Margaret was the oldest and longest member of the Portland United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She also was a in a bowling league for many years as well as a member of the Danby Township Cemetery Society. Margaret worked at the Portland Dairy and J&J Dime Store (she was so dedicated, she thought she owned the store). She was preceded in death by husband, Terry J. Warder; an infant daughter, Kay Ann; 2 infant great granddaughters; siblings, Arnold Wilcox, Ursal Cody, Donald Wilcox, Stuart Wilcox and Lois Lawrence; sister-in-law, Myrtle Morgridge. Surviving are her children, Donna (George) Becker of Portland, Jack (Doreen) Warder of Crystal, Julie (Steve) Correll of Marietta, GA and Amy (Larry) Fensom of Grand Ledge; 13 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; many friends, nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Portland United Methodist Church, 310 E. Bridge St., Portland. Interment will be in Danby Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland and one hour prior to the service at the church.
