St. Patrick's Beats Laingsburg Soundly
The Laingsburg Wolfpack visited Portland on Tuesday, February 5th, for a contest with the Shamrocks. The Shamrocks put together a solid game from beginning to end and beat the Wolfpack 70-46.
In the 1st quarter, led by Sam Mauren making three 3 pointers in a row, the Shamrocks jumped out to a 17-9 lead.
The 2nd quarter the Wolfpack inched back into the game, winning the quarter 13-12. The Shamrocks were led by 7 points from Connor Cross. St. Patrick's led 29-22 at halftime.
After the half, 5 different Shamrock players scored, and St. Patrick's extended their lead, winning the quarter 22-13. Brandon Scheurer led St. Patrick's with 8 points in the quarter.
Coming into the final quarter, St. Patrick's led the game 51-35 and they were determined to pull out a resounding victory. St. Patricks continued their solid team play, with 6 players scoring in the 4th quarter, and won the quarter 19-11.
Offensive leaders for St. Patrick's were Connor Cross with 19 points 6 rebounds 3 assists and 3 steals, Brandon Scheurer had 18 points 5 rebounds 6 assists and 1 steal and Sam Mauren had 11 points 3 rebounds 2 assists 1 steal and 1 block.
The Shamrocks next play Thursday February 7th in Saranac.
