Shamrock boys pull out a tight victory over Potterville


The Shamrocks had a tough contest right from the beginning, winning the 1st quarter 12-11. Scoring was paced by an on-fire Nate Leahy, hitting three from behind the arc, and Sam Mauren also hitting a three.

The 2nd quarter was a defensive battle, with neither team able to get going offensively. Potterville ended up winning the quarter 7-6 and giving the fans a tied-up ballgame at halftime. St. Patrick's continued to score from behind the arc, with Brandon Scheurer hitting two 3 pointers.

The 3rd quarter was Potterville pulled out ahead in the 3rd quarter, taking a 35-32 lead into the final quarter.

The 4th quarter was exciting, when St. Patrick's had a four-point lead with under a minute to play, but Potterville was able to tie the score up with 22 seconds left to play. Connor Cross hit Graham Wohlscheid with a pass where he connected with the game winning three pointer as time expired to help the Shamrocks prevail in this CMAC contest.

Offensive leaders were Nathaniel Leahy with 19 points and 4 assists, Brandon Scheurer added 12 points 7 rebounds 4 steals and 3 assists, and Connor Cross had 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Shamrocks are now 7-3 and 4-3 in the CMAC. St. Patrick's plays at home against Fulton next Tuesday, January 22nd.
