Portland Civic Players Holding Spring Auditions January 7th
Portland Civic Players is holding open auditions for it's spring production of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville on Monday, January 7 at 7:00 pm at the Portland Playhouse. The cast includes 4 men and 1 woman. The 5 actors will portray 40+ characters in this Sherlock Holmes comedy thriller.
Author Ken Ludwig transforms Arthur Conan Doyle's classic The Hound of the Baskervilles into a murderously funny adventure. Sherlock Holmes is on the case. The male heirs of the Baskerville line are being dispatched one by one. To find their ingenious killer, Holmes and Watson must brave the desolate moors before a family curse dooms its newest heir. Their intrepid investigators try to escape a dizzying web of clues, silly accents, disguises, and deceit as five actors deftly portray more than 40 characters. Does a wild hellhound prowl the moors of Devonshire? Can the heroes discover the truth in time? Join the fun and see how far from elementary the truth can be.
The play is being directed by Dr. Roger Miller. Performances will be March 15, 16, 17, 22 and 23. Please call director Roger Miller at (517) 256-5350 if you are interested but not available for the January 7 audition date. The Portland Playhouse is located at 231 Maple Street, Portland.
