St. Patrick's girls stomp Saranac

The Portland St. Patrick's Shamrocks visited Saranac for a showdown with the Redskins on Thursday December 13th. The Shamrocks were obviously the better team, and came away with a 62-31 victory.

In the 1st quarter, the Shamrocks jumped right out in front, led by 6 points by Mara Schrauben and 4 points from Lexi Hass. The Shamrocks ended up winning the quarter 18-6.

The 2nd quarter was closer, but the Shamrocks still extended their lead, winning the quarter 15-10 and taking a 33-16 halftime lead.

The 3rd quarter was a defensive struggle, St. Patrick's still won the quarter 7-5.

In the 4th quarter, the Shamrock offense exploded on the scene, and 8 different St. Patrick's players scored. The Shamrocks won the quarter in a big way, 22-10.

Offensive leaders were Kaitlyn Russell with 11 points 8 rebounds 1 steal 1 assist and 1 block, Lexi Hass with 11 points 2 rebounds 2 assists and 2 steals, and Mara Schrauben with 10 points 5 rebounds and 1 steal.

The Lady Shamrocks travel to Fowler next Tuesday December 18th at 7pm.
