EASTON TOWNSHIP – Children of all ages are invited to share their Christmas lists with Santa Claus Friday and Saturday at the fourth annual “Christmas in the Park,” from 5-8 p.m., at Bertha Brock Park.

The magic begins with a large Christmas light display at the entrance of the park. Luminaries will line the path leading to Palmer Lodge, where Santa and his elves will await guests. Live reindeer will be at the park Friday night only, but Santa and his sleigh will be at the lodge both nights for photo taking – bring your camera.

The event is a fundraiser for the Ionia County Dive Team, a multi-agency team that provides water rescue and evidence recovery around the county. The suggested, but voluntary, donation of $5 per car entering the park for the event will assist the dive team with the purchase of equipment and training.

Hot chocolate, popcorn and doughnuts will be offered for sale, also to benefit the dive team.

“Bring out your family members and friends, and enjoy a family-fun evening with Santa and his helpers,” said Ionia County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. William Hoskins, coordinator of the dive team and the “Christmas in the Park” event.

The dive team includes first responders from the sheriff’s office, Lyons-Muir Fire Department, Belding Fire Department and Portland Police Department.
