St. Patricks vs Lansing Christian
The Lady Shamrocks hosted the Lansing Christian Pilgrims at Portland Middle School on Thursday December 6th. The Shamrocks handled them strongly, winning with a final score of 56-22.
In the first quarter, the Shamrocks played good team defense and balanced out the scoring, winning the quarter 13-5 with five different Shamrocks scoring.
In the second quarter, St. Patrick's followed up with a very similar performance, winning the quarter 13-6 with a nice balanced scoring attack and great defense, to leave the score 26-11 at halftime.
The third quarter, let the Pilgrims keep it a little closer, but the Shamrocks still extended their lead winning the quarter 15-9. This quarter again saw 5 different St. Patrick's players scoring. This left the score 41-20 after 3 quarters.
In the fourth quarter, seven different St. Patrick's players scored, and the Shamrocks played stifling defense, allowing only 2 points for a final score of 56-22.
Offensive leaders were Lydia Meredith with 10 points 8 steals 9 rebounds 4 assists and 2 blocks. Sami Teachworth had 10 points 11 rebounds and a steal, and Mara Schrauben had 9 points 9 rebounds 2 steals and 2 assists.
Coach Al Schrauben had kept his comments close to his vest saying "Rebounded well, played hard".
The Shamrocks have a huge game next Tuesday, hosting the 2018 State Finalist PW Pirates next Tuesday, December 11th at 7:30 pm.
