Recreation Department Receives Walmart Grant

The City of Portland Recreation Department received a Walmart Community Grant. The funds from the grant were used to sponsor a new Youth Sportsman Camp in August August.

The local Ionia Walmart made a $1,000 donation from their Community Grant Fund towards the purchase of equipment for the program. According to Recreation Coordinator Milo Root, “We were able to purchase brand new fishing, hunting and camping equipment to start this program!”
