Freshman Sprints the Shamrocks to Victory
At Burr Oak on Thursday, August 30th, the Shamrocks relied on their speed and sprinted past the Burr Oak Bobcats on route to a 71-32 victory. The Shamrocks gained 491 yards of total offensive, versus the Bobcats 290 yards.
Freshmen Derec Fedewa took the opening kickoff 70 yards for a touchdown, and the Shamrocks didn’t look back as their speed was just too much for the Bobcats.
Offensive leaders were Ned Smith with 6 carries for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns, Derec Fedewa with 2 kick returns for touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown, and Connor Cross went 3 for 4 with 1 touchdown throwing. Zach Spitzley had 3 receptions for 93 yards and 1 touchdown, and Tanner Lawson had 1 touchdown reception for 95 yards, 2 rushes for 43 yards and 1 touchdown, and also threw a touchdown.
Defensive leaders were Ned Smith with 16 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 tackles for Loss. Bret Weller had 15 tackles. Alex Kissane had 12 tackles, and Derec Fedewa had 10 tackles.
The Shamrocks face a tough match-up versus undefeated Division I Camden Frontier next Saturday, September 8th, home at 7 p.m.
