FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH CELEBRATES 175th ANNIVERSARY ON SEPTEMBER 9TH

The Church was organized in 1843. Celebration will begin at the 10 a.m. Church service (421 Bridge Street) followed by a soup luncheon. Attendees, many wearing historic clothing, will then proceed to Thompson Field (Kruger Memorial area on Canal Street) for the afternoon’s events.

GATHER BY THE RIVER EVENT - PUBLIC INVITED TO ATTEND!

Free Activities

1:00-1:45 PM: John Louis-Christian Variety Show! Entertainment for all ages.

2-3 PM: Historic Children's Games! Fun for everyone.

3-4 PM: Old Thyme Hymn Sing followed by local Talent!

Light refreshments available while they last. Activities will occur at church if rain.

Other Activity:

12:30-5:00 PM. Tethered HOT AIR BALLOON Rides! Weather permitting, Magic Clouds LLC offers 3-5 minute rides for Adults ($10.00) and children under 13 ($5.00); Family (two children and two adults) $20.00. (Note: A signed waiver of liability is required for all riders. All riders must be able to climb in and out of the basket on their own or with very little assistance by balloon staff.)
