4th Grade Pair Holds Lemonade Stand to Benefit Youth Football Program
A pair of young men who will begin fourth grade at Westwood this week recently held a lemonade stand from which they donated a portion of the proceeds to the Jr. Raider football and cheer program.
Tanner Brownell and Derek LeDu set up the stand in front of Tanner’s grandma’s house.
Brownell says he was the mastermind behind the operation and the idea to give a portion of the proceeds to Jr. Raiders. As for the story behind the idea, he said, “I thought it is going to be really fun, and it is good to fundraise money for children.”
When asked for a list of what was available at the stand in addition to lemonade, LeDu said, “Cookies, popcorn, Oreos, and all sorts of cookie stuff.”
The pair estimates that they had between 45 and 50 customers.
When asked if he had advice for other looking to hold a lemonade stand, LeDu said, “If you are going to do a lemonade stand, I recommend giving 50% of it to people in need, like football, or animal shelters.”
Brownell and LeDu donated a total of $49 to the Jr. Raider program.
