3rd Annual Red Mill Community Day Set for August 25th
The Portland Community with hosts Friends of the Red Mill are planning a fantastic day of free family fun at the Red Mill Community Day on August 25 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Red Mill Pavilion at 450 Water Street in Portland, MI Events include but are not limited to a Portland Chamber of Commerce Business Showcase, a craft show and celebrity dunk tank. These activities will take place from 9-5. There will be food treats throughout the whole day - breakfast to evening with snacks from a variety of vendors. Kid Zone will be providing all day games and activities and is hosted by Epic Church. Live music will be provided by Old Timer's Band from 9-2 and then DJ entertainment with trivia and karaoke will be from 2-5. An inflatable obstacle course brought in by the Army National Guard will be running from 9-5. They will also have summon suits and a jousting arena. From 6-9 there will be a Barn Dance and Kick-n-Style Line Dancing. Bring your own chair for an entertaining evening. Other activities include demonstrations of word carving, the saw mill and more; mill tours by the Portland Area Historical Society; free vision screening hosted by Lyons Muir Lions Club; and Old Red Mill Farmer's Market (from 8-1).
