Boy Scout Troop 87 Announcement

Boy Scout Troop 87 announces 2018—Rank advancements of scouts, and celebrates the retirement of 2 longtime scoutmasters.

Boy Scout Troop 87, which encompasses Ionia, Lyons, Muir, Pewamo and Westphalia is pleased to announce their Court of Honor. This is an acknowledgement of the ranks earned by the Scouts throughout the year. It will be held at the Muir Lions Club, 228 Superior St, Muir, MI from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Additionally, we will be celebrating the retirement of 2 scoutmasters that have served the Scout troop for 17 and 18 years. Both have made a major dedication to the troop over those years.

There will be a color guard presentation, Scout Oath, Scout Law and a blessing before a potluck style dinner then an awards presentation. The conclusion of the awards presentation will call on current Scouts and all past Eagles to say a few words about their former mentor Scoutmasters.

Our Charter Organization, The Lions Club of Lyons/Muir will be represented, as well as community leaders from Lyons, Muir, and Pewamo to help recognize the accomplishments of the Scouts.

Currently the Scouts are under leadership of Scoutmaster Chase Nobis, Committee Chairperson Denise Cassel, Treasurer Shanna Luznak Simon, and Advancement Director Victoria Hair.
