Coach Jim Niebling said of the match, “As usual, we did not get a break from playing a strong team, this time in Holt, a division 1 team who is set up to perform well in their regional. And again, we took a step forward and were able to see our players competing better on each court. The most positive result from today is that our young flights got exactly what they needed: tough competition, close matches, and wins. When the matches got close, both our 3 and 4 doubles focused on executing and did just that, closing out both matches in tiebreakers while all their teammates watched. The match of the day goes to 4 doubles, Emily Bigelow and Mya Collins, who dealt with the pressure of having a match on the line with poise.”
The Raiders are scheduled to begin regional competition on Thursday, May 17th.
