Portland’s Thompson Signs to Play Football at Adrian College
On Wednesday, Portland High School senior Tim Thompson signed his letter of intent to play football at Adrian College next fall.
Portland’s head football coach John Novara said, “We are very excited for Tim. He came in in his sophomore year, and he had to learn a brand-new system. It took him a little bit, but he had some great games for us this past season. He is a tough, physical kid. I think they may be looking at him as a fullback possibly. He can play either side of the ball. He is a tough and physical kid and he just kept getting better every single week, and that was the most important thing.”
Thompson sounded eager to begin this next chapter in his football and academic career. He said, “I think it will be a great time. I have jumped from system to system. It will be a new learning experience. A new part of my life.”
When asked what he expected to study at Adrian, Thompson said, “I am planning on studying athletic training. It is what I have always wanted to do.”
Located in Adrian, Michigan, the Adrian College Bulldogs compete in NCAA Division III football. In 2017, The Bulldogs finished 5-5 overall, and 4-2 in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association.
