Obituary for LeRoy Vern Jackson

FEBRUARY 26, 1929 - MARCH 27, 2018 (AGE 89)

LeRoy Jackson, 89 of Sunfield, Michigan had a tee time with his maker Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 pm on March 27, 2018.

LeRoy was born to John and Louise Jackson of Sunfield, Michigan on February 26, 1929. He graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1947. LeRoy married Norma Davis in June of 1948. LeRoy farmed the family Centennial farm and built kitchen cabinets until 1972 when LeRoy and his son Mike began building Centennial Acres Golf Course on the family farm, which is now 27 holes and a thriving banquet facility.

LeRoy enjoyed the outdoors, which included golfing, fishing, hunting, and camping. He also was an avid bowler. LeRoy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife Norma loved to travel the world.

On April 22, 2006 he married Elaine Merryfield in Sunfield, Michigan.

Surviving are his wife Elaine Merryfield of Mulliken, Michigan, his son Michael and Connie Jackson of St. Louis, Michigan, his daughter Londa and Randy Williams of Luther, Michigan. Grandchildren Bryan Jackson and fiancé Maggie of Muir, Brady and Su Jackson of Fayetteville, NC. Lisa and Joe Boyer of Sunfield, Gary Ferman and fiancé Loretta of St. Louis, Heather and Rob Holton of St. Louis and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Norma and granddaughter Lauri Karker.

Visitation with viewing 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday March 30, 2018 at the Sunfield United Brethren Church. Funeral services honoring LeRoy’s life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday March 31, 2018 also at the Church.
