Obituary for Jerie Lanice (Dalton) Fedewa
Beloved wife and mother, Jerie Lanice (Dalton) Fedewa, age 61, of Sunfield, passed away at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan after a short battle with cancer, surrounded and supported by her loving family.
Jerie is survived by her loving husband, Gregory Lynn Fedewa of Sunfield and their son, Gregory Scott Dalton of Greenville; her mother, Donna Dalton of Hubbardston; sisters, Jacqueline (Michael) Ferris of Lyons and Judy (David) Krause of Cedar Springs; brothers, John Dalton of Eagle and Jene Dalton of Naples, Florida; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Jerie was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Dalton and by her brothers, Jeffrey Dalton and James Dalton.
Jerie was born in Ionia, Michigan, on November 30, 1956. She graduated from Portland High School. She lived in Greenville for many years where she worked for Electolux, returning to live in Sunfield in recent years, where she worked at Portland Products.
Jerie and Greg were high school sweethearts and are the proud parents of Gregory Scott who was born 1976. After many years living apart, Greg and Jerie were reunited and married August 26, 2006 at their cottage in Houghton.
Jerie enjoyed freshwater fishing in Houghton Lake and Morrison Lake and saltwater fishing on the Florida coast. She was very accomplished in crochet, creating blankets, dolls, afghans, and beautifully crafted doilies. She loved to gamble at the casinos, play bingo, and take road trips with her mom and sisters, including an extended trip to the East Coast.
A Memorial Service for Jerie will be held at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland, Michigan, on Thursday, March 22, at 3:00 p.m. Visitation before the service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Gladding of North Plains Community Church will conduct the service. Jerie’s wish was to be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gregory Fedewa Family to help with medical expenses. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
