July 13, 1938-February 22, 2018
LaVonne was born in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Margaret (Cornell) and Lawrence Anthony. She loved to play sports as a child - even if it was just half-court basketball. LaVonne was very active on her family farm in her younger years. Through high school she was a cornet player in the band which led her to carry her love of music through to her family church, Portland Church of the Nazarene, in which her family was one of the founding members. LaVonne’s love for her Lord and Savior never wavered.
On March 2, 1957, LaVonne married Jack Sines, which blessed them with a family of 4 - Pat, Jack, Brenda and Abe. While celebrating their almost 61 years together she enjoyed bowling, singing in church, a multitude of jobs, and kept a spotless house in the process. None of which she enjoyed more than her spot from the bleachers watching her kids and grandkids play sports.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Patrick Sines; her sisters, Marilyn Hinds, Florence (Myrt) Iler; her brothers-in-law, Coy Marshall, William and Richard Sines, William Rowe, and Herb Hinds; and her grandson, Taggart Sines. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Sines; her children, Jack, Jr. (Shelly), Brenda (Eric) Keson and Abe (Connie); brothers and sisters, Lawrence, Matt, Mark, Midge, and Janie; brother and sisters-in-law, Linda (Bob) Egan, Barb Sines, Sally and Lee Francis and Donna Sines; many, many, many grandkids and great-grandkids; and also special friend, Katie Benbow.
The Memorial Service will be officiated by Pastor Jimmy Guffey at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Portland Church of the Nazarene. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3
