Raiders Full Roster Available for West Catholic

There are a lot of wonderful characteristics of living in a town the size of Portland. The speed and frequent inaccuracy of the local rumor mill is not one of those wonderful characteristics.

The Portland Beacon has been made aware of a rumor or rumors circulating around social media that one or more of the Raider varsity football players not being able to participate in this Friday’s Regional Championship game against Grand Rapids West Catholic due to being ejected during the contest with Lansing Catholic.

This rumor is not based in fact. The Portland Beacon has confirmed with Portland High School Athletic Director Kevin Veale that no Portland players were ejected from the Lansing Catholic game.

The tentative plan for pre-sale tickets for this week is Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Friday 8:00 AM to noon in the PHS Athletic Office. Please note this is tentative at this time.

And for any Raider fan’s not able to attend the Regional Championship game in person, we have been informed that “ESPN 96.1’s Game of the Week” will be broadcasting live from the Portland vs. West Catholic game this Friday starting at 7:00. We are working on getting additional details, including the live streaming information, and will post those details once available.
