PHS Girls Golf Wins CAAC Title
Last week, the Raider girls’ varsity golf team captured the CAAC White League Championship Tournament. According to Head Coach Sarah Honsowitz, this victory also put the team, “in a tie for the league championship with Lansing Catholic.”
According to Athletic Director Kevin Veale, “Low scorer for the match for the Raiders was Allison Sandbrook with a 98 followed by Macey Schrauben’s 102. Taylor Trierweiler, Julia Savage and Rachel Kapcia each carded a 104. Five Raiders finished in the top eight.”
The team also finished second in the Alma Invitational.
Honsowitz said, “The team has tremendous senior leadership in Taylor Trierweiler, Allison Sandbrook, and Rachel Kapcia topped off with two up and coming sophomores Julia Savage and Macey Schrauben.”
This is Honsowitz’s 12th season coaching varsity golf.
Honsowitz added, “We are heading to Marshall on Thursday in hopes of qualifying for the state tournament for the first time in program history.”
The future looks bright for the program too as the JV squad was undefeated in league play for the second year in a row.
