Release: Now Hiring School Bus Drivers At Portland Public Schools
Portland, MI – Since 2007, METS - Michigan Educational Transportation Services, Inc. has worked with public school districts employing school bus drivers, mechanics and other pupil transportation professionals across the state. METS is currently seeking candidates for school bus driving assignments at Portland Public Schools. No experience is necessary. Training is provided to qualified candidates.
How do you know if you are qualified? If you answer yes to the following questions, you may have what it takes to succeed as a school bus driving professional. Here are five questions to ask yourself when considering school bus driving.
Do you enjoy working with children? If so, school bus driving is all about the kids, taking them safely to school, ready to learn and dropping them off at home after a challenging day in the classroom. You may be the first smile, or last smile they see, in a given day.
Do you have a safe driving record? When it comes to pupil transportation, it’s always safety first. In addition, random drug testing and physical exams ensure that school bus drivers remain in good health for this safety sensitive position.
Are you a morning person? A school bus driver’s day starts early. Remaining bright and alert at all times is a must. With families relying on the school bus for transportation, showing up on time and ready to go is required.
Is part-time work a good fit for your household? Whether you are a retiree looking for some extra spending money, or a parent looking for a work schedule that matches your child’s school schedule, the part-time hours of school bus driving work well for many situations. No more looking for day care at the last minute on snow days!
Do you want to help your local community? There are school bus driving positions available in the Transportation Department of Portland Public Schools. We are hiring smiling, safety minded individuals that can make a positive impact on the children of this community.
