On Monday, October 31st, Portland United Methodist Church sponsored the annual Halloween “Trunk or Treat” event in the church parking lot at 310 E. Bridge St.

The event kicked off at 6 pm. With pleasant weather, families showed up in a wide variety of costumes to a host of spooky tailgaters displaying their special design for Halloween. 10 families displayed their spookiness with plenty of candy to distribute. Portland Community Orchestra, Friends of the Red Mill, Back Pak for Bellies, VFW Auxiliary from Post 4090, Portland Community Food Bank and Portland EMS were present.

Spooky tunes were provided by Portland United Methodist Church and Brandon Martin.

The event had a strong participation with over 600 children and their families attending.

Thank you to the community of Portland, all the participants and the behind-the-scene volunteers for making this event so special.
