Trent Trierweiler to continue wrestling career at Adrian College



Portland High School senior Trent Trierweiler recently signed to continue his wrestling career at Adrian College.


Trierweiler has had a stellar athletic career for the Raiders. He player four years of varsity baseball, and wrestled at the varsity level for fur years. He was also a member of the varsity football team for two years.


When asked about his decision to attend Adrian, Trierweiler said, “I went on a few different visits and spoke with a variety of coaches, but in the end I just really hit it off with the Coach Schindel and my future teammates at Adrian. I am excited about their Business College and want to focus on Entrepreneurial Studies along with Health & Nutrition.”

Trierweiler added, “I’ve been very fortunate to have been able to have a choice at the next level for baseball or wrestling. I knew I wanted to wrestle and excited about being able to focus on that.”


He also said, “I would like to thank all the support from my family, friends and especially all of my youth and HS coaches in football, wrestling & baseball. Our youth programs, my teammates and our coaches played a big role for me being able to go to the next level.”


PHS wrestling coach Andy Pulling told the Beacon, "Trent has transformed from a zealous, gifted athlete his freshman year to a deep-thinking and courageous leader as a senior. In that time, Trent has taken on leadership roles with outstanding rapport from his teammates, supported those teammates unconditionally, all while improving his skills and talents in competitions. We are excited for Trent in his endeavors to continue his wrestling career at Adrian."
