St. Patrick Cross Country team finishes outstanding season
At the cross country regional meet Friday, 10-28-22, the St Patrick boys cross country team finished in 7th place out of 14 teams, lead by TJ Chamberlain who finished in 6th place, earning a PR by 19 seconds, a medal and the right to run in the state finals. Isaac FoxElster finished 2nd for the boys team with 5 second PR, Francis Austen was the 3rd runner followed by Ben White with a 1 minute 15 second PR and Nick Pung finished the scoring for the boys team. Will Chislea and Martin White also had strong runs.
The girls team finished in 9th place out of 14 teams, led by Cozie Brown who finished in 9th place earning a PR by 16 seconds, a medal and the right to run in the state finals. Marian Davlin finished 2nd for the girls team with a 1 & 1/2 minute PR, Izzy Kissane was the 3rd runner followed by Siena Schafer and Emma Martin with a 1 minute PR. Emma Honsowitz also had a strong run.
At the cross country state final meet Saturday, 11/5/22, Portland St. Patrick Freshman TJ Chamberlain was ranked 74th in the state and ran an amazing race moving up 32 places to finish 42nd in the state. Senior Cozie Brown was also ranked 74th in the state. Cozie had a strong race and became the first girl in school history to qualify for and run in the state final cross country meet all 4 years of high school.
