St. Patrick boys break into the win column
On Tuesday, December 14th the Portland St. Patrick Shamrocks travelled to Saranac to take on the Redskins. St. Patrick played a balanced game, and came out with a win 42-21.
In the first quarter, Braxton Teachworth led the Shamrocks with 6 points, and won the quarter 13-5.
In the second quarter, Shane Cook put in 8, and the Shamrocks held the Redskins to only 3 points, winning the quarter 11-3 and taking a 24-8 lead into the half.
After halftime, The Shamrocks continued their defensive dominance, holding the Redskins to only 4 points, while scoring 12. Braxton and Shane both chipped in 4 points a piece. This left the Shamrocks leading 36-12 after three quarters of play.
In the final quarter, the Shamrocks held on for the win with Landon Simpson putting in a 3, Derec Fedewa putting in 2 and Cole Kinsman hitting a free throw.
Offensive leaders for the Shamrocks were Shane Cook with 14 points 6 rebounds 1 assist and 2 steals, Braxton Teachworth had 10 points 8 rebounds 1 assist 5 steals and 2 blocks, and Brayden Simon had 5 points 4 rebounds 1 assist and 4 steals.
The Shamrocks play at home on Thursday, December 16th versus Fowler.
