Coaches Comments:

The girls showed up ready to work this evening. They attacked at the plate and never let up. The top of our lineup found ways to get on base, move into scoring position and the rest of our lineup stepped up and allowed us to score quickly. Defensively, we made great plays and our pitching was absolutely fantastic. Tori had her first Varsity win this evening and Rylee and Tori both split game two with a combined 5 strikeouts in 3 innings. As their coaches, we absolutely couldn’t be more proud of the attitude and effort tonight. Tomorrow we move forward to some solid competition and then back to league play Thursday. We look forward to applying the same attitude, energy and focus during those contests.

Coaches Comments:

Tonight East Lansing hosted a throwback double header at their home field. East Lansing is a solid team that made us really battle out each win this evening. They connected at the plate and drove the ball a few times we left it high, and offered us a good look at what we could do on the basepath. Our lead off batters have really broke out and are leading our team each game with their speed and agility. Their energy is trickling down our lineup and contagious. Our pitchers are giving us excellent pitch placement and leading our defense. Tonight we had no errors in game one and one in game two and that starts with our team leaders. It was refreshing to watch the team grind out a series of two out, solid and clutch at bats in the second game and keep that energy and focus. East Lansing’s staffs pitching coach, Sammi Leonard (alumni of St. Patrick’s) and it was wonderful to see her continuing to pay her passion and skill set forward. We host a league game against Laingsburg on Thursday.
